Filipino Nannies & Housekeepers in France Map of France filled with the French flag

Live-in domestic staff with Spanish nationality. No work permit needed.
Filipino nanny in France with three children in the kitchen of a family home

A Filipino nanny in France who holds Spanish nationality can work for your family without a work permit, because she is a citizen of the European Union. At Mimucama Intermediación, SL, a domestic-staff agency based in Madrid, we have selected domestic workers since 2010.

We are a placement agency authorised by the Spanish Public Employment Service (SEPE, no. 1300000335), with our office at Avda. Guadalix, 7, 28120 Santo Domingo, Madrid. You describe the post, we preselect candidates, you meet them by video and you decide who joins your household.

The key figures are these: the salary is agreed net, in 12 monthly payments, from €2,600 net per month. Our fees equal one month’s net salary plus Spanish VAT. The guarantee lasts six months from the start and includes one replacement at no extra fee. Each point is explained below.

Why Families Choose a Filipino Nanny in France

French families who contact us tend to mention the same two things: English and reputation. Many want English spoken naturally at home, whether to give the children a head start or because the household is international. Filipino domestic workers are also known worldwide for the way they care for a home and for the people in it.

For a long time, most of our clients abroad were Spanish families living outside Spain. Now the picture is different. Most of the families who write to us are German, French or Swiss, with no link to Spain, and they find us online.

Our candidates are mostly Filipino domestic workers and, now and then, workers of other nationalities. All of them hold Spanish nationality, which is what simplifies things for you.

Spanish Nationality and the Right to Work in France

Anyone with Spanish nationality is a citizen of the European Union. For that reason, a Filipino nanny in France with a Spanish passport or identity card does not need a work permit or a French residence card, in line with the EU rules on the free movement of workers. The official Your Europe page on working in another EU country explains these rights, and the French administration confirms the point on the Service-Public page on residence.

Filipino citizens can obtain Spanish nationality after two years of legal residence in Spain, under article 22.1 of the Spanish Civil Code. The candidates we present to you already hold it.

The information about French rules on this page is orientative. It does not replace the official source or the advice of your local adviser in France. The figures quoted were checked in October 2026.

What a Filipino Nanny or Housekeeper Does in Your Home

A live-in housekeeper does the work of any live-in domestic worker, and the right mix depends on your home. We ask you to define it before the search begins, because a clear brief is what leads to a good match.

Tasks of a Live-In Filipino Nanny in France

  • Cleaning and ironing
  • Cooking
  • Childcare when agreed, including the school run
  • Caring for older relatives, when agreed

Some families want a nanny who focuses on the children. Others need a housekeeper who also helps an elderly parent. Both profiles are possible, provided the tasks are clear from the start.

What We Ask You to Define

Before the preselection, we ask you for four things:

  • The number of people in the household
  • The size and layout of the home
  • The daily schedules, including school times
  • Her rest periods

With that information we can present candidates who fit your household, and the video interview is the moment to check it.

Agreeing the Working Conditions

A live-in post works best when both sides know where they stand from day one. Before she starts, we recommend that you and the candidate agree on the points below. They then go into the written employment contract prepared with your adviser.

  • The daily schedule
  • Weekly rest and days off
  • The main tasks and the people she will look after
  • The salary and the payment date

French rules set clear limits here: the working week, the weekly rest and the minimum pay are set by law and by the domestic employment collective agreement, as explained in the employer section below. Keeping to what you agree also protects the guarantee.

How to Hire a Filipino Nanny in France with Mimucama

We follow the same process as in Spain, with one difference. In Spain the process ends with a face-to-face interview. That is not practical for a family in France, so every interview is held by video, and for that reason our preselection is more thorough.

  1. You tell us the tasks and the profile you are looking for.
  2. We preselect candidates who match that profile.
  3. You interview them by video.
  4. You choose the candidate you want to hire.
  5. You pay the first 50 % of the fees when the hiring agreement is reached.
  6. You send her the flight tickets.
  7. She starts, and you pay the remaining 50 % no later than the start day.

You pay nothing for the search or for the interviews. Fees accrue only once you reach a hiring agreement with one of the candidates we present.

What You Receive Before the Interview

Before each interview we send you the candidate’s profile sheet with her age, experience and skills. It leaves out her surname and contact details, and we arrange the interviews ourselves. A video call shows you how she communicates and how she responds to your questions. We suggest that every adult who will live with her joins the call.

Questions to Ask a Filipino Nanny in France in the Video Interview

The video interview with a Filipino nanny in France is brief, so go in with your questions ready. Select those that matter most to your home and pay attention to the way she answers, not only to the words. Open prompts such as “tell me about…” reveal more than questions that can be answered with yes or no.

Agree in advance who will ask which question, so the call flows like a conversation. If you want a second pair of eyes on your list, send it to us and we will review it with you.

Experience with Children and Schools

Ask about real situations rather than what is written on her sheet.

  • Which age groups have you cared for, and what did your day look like in each post?
  • Have you done school runs, walking children or using public transport? How did you handle them?
  • How do you help children with homework when it is in a language that is not yours?
  • Describe a difficult moment, such as an illness or a child who refuses to eat. What did you do?
  • What would a previous family say about your work?

Specific examples tell you more than general statements.

Routine, Tasks and Rest in a French Household

A live-in post works when both sides can picture the day. Describe an ordinary weekday in your home and check that she follows it.

  • What would you change in this routine, and what would you like to ask?
  • Which tasks do you enjoy most, and which do you find hardest?
  • Are you comfortable cooking French dishes, and willing to learn our family recipes?
  • How do you organise ironing and cleaning around the children’s timetable?
  • How do you understand weekly rest, and how would you like to spend your days off?

Use this part of the call to remove any doubt. The schedule, rest and tasks you agree here are the ones the guarantee expects you to keep.

Living as a Filipino Nanny in France: Language, Place and Distance

Moving to another country to live in a family’s home is a big step, and in France language will shape her daily life. Ask openly and give her room to be honest.

  • Have you lived or worked abroad before? How did you adapt?
  • Do you speak any French, or are you willing to learn it? Would you attend classes in your free time?
  • Which language will you use with the children and which with the adults: English, Spanish or French?
  • Would you be at ease living in a big city such as Paris, or would you prefer the countryside?
  • How do you feel about cold winters and shorter days?
  • How will you stay in touch with your own family from a distance?
  • What would you like to ask us?

Leave time for her own questions, and take notes as you go. Afterwards, compare impressions with the other adults in the household before deciding.

Salary: Net and in 12 Monthly Payments

We agree the salary as a net amount paid in 12 monthly payments. In Spain, salaries are normally quoted gross and split into 13 or 14 payments, a system that is little known in the rest of Europe. A single net figure is easy for the family and the worker to understand.

For a Filipino nanny in France, the salary starts from €2,600 net per month in 12 payments.

What Net Means

Net is the amount she actually receives each month, after social security contributions and taxes have been deducted. Your local payroll adviser, for example an accountant or a payroll service for private employers, works out the gross salary needed to reach that net figure under French rules. The calculation depends on French law, so it should be made by someone who knows it.

The French Minimum Wage and the Collective Agreement

The statutory minimum wage in France, the SMIC, is €12.31 gross per hour since 1 June 2026, according to the French government. Domestic employment also has its own collective agreement (IDCC 3239), published on Légifrance, which sets minimum rates by level. These are floors, not targets, and they change over time, so ask your adviser to check the pay agreed against the hours worked and the level of the post.

Fees for a Filipino Nanny in France: One Month’s Net Salary

Our fees equal one month’s net salary on the 12-payment basis, plus Spanish VAT, currently 21 %. The VAT is Spanish even though the job is in France. With the starting salary, the calculation is:

  • Net salary: €2,600
  • Spanish VAT (21 %): €546
  • Total fees: €3,146

The total is paid in two equal parts: €1,573 when the hiring agreement is reached and €1,573 no later than the start day. There are no registration fees.

The fees do not cover the flights. You pay her flight, and also the flight of a replacement if you use the guarantee. The full conditions are in our terms and conditions, which you accept before the interviews.

Six-Month Service Guarantee with One Replacement

Outside the Community of Madrid, our guarantee lasts six months from the start and includes one replacement at no extra fee. That makes two starts in total, counting the first.

If your Filipino nanny in France leaves the post permanently, whether you end the relationship or she resigns, we select a new candidate with the same profile without charging fees again. Please keep these points in mind:

  • Notify us by email at info@mimucama.es within fifteen days of the departure.
  • The guarantee requires the fees to be paid in full and the agreed conditions to be respected: pay, working hours and social security registration.
  • There are no trial days. The protection is the guarantee.
  • If the job is later moved permanently to another place, the guarantee ends.
  • If the candidate does not start for reasons that are not your responsibility, we carry out a new selection at no extra cost.

You can read the exact wording in the terms and conditions.

What You Arrange in France as the Employer

You are the employer. You sign the written employment contract and declare her to the French social security with your local adviser. Mimucama does not handle French paperwork and does not advise on French law. We present candidates with the right nationality and state the salary, the fees and the guarantee clearly before you choose.

The table summarises the main points when you hire a Filipino nanny in France. It is orientative and was checked in October 2026: rules and amounts change, so consult the official source.

Families in France We Work With

You can hire a Filipino nanny in France wherever your family lives. Real clients of ours have been in Paris, in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and in the Vendée. Families in other cities and areas follow the same process, whether they live in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Lyon, Nice, Cannes, Bordeaux or on the Basque coast. Distance is not an obstacle, because the interviews are held by video and you send the flight tickets.

Looking for a live-in worker in Madrid too? Our page on the live-in domestic worker in Madrid (in Spanish) explains that service. For more about the candidates we select, see Filipino domestic staff (in Spanish).

Frequently asked questions

Does a Filipino nanny in France need a work permit?

No. All our candidates hold Spanish nationality, so as EU citizens they can work in France without a work permit and without a residence card. You declare her to Urssaf, typically through the CESU déclaratif.

Who signs the employment contract in France?

You do, with your local adviser, because you are the employer. The contract must be in writing. Mimucama does not handle French paperwork and does not advise on French law.

How much does a Filipino nanny in France earn?

The salary is agreed net and in 12 monthly payments, from €2,600 net per month. Net is what she receives each month after deductions, and your adviser calculates the matching gross salary.

How much are your fees?

One month’s net salary plus 21 % Spanish VAT. With €2,600 net, that is €3,146, paid in two halves: the first when the hiring agreement is reached and the second no later than the start day. The search and the interviews are free of charge.

What happens if she leaves?

During the six months after the start, we select one replacement at no extra fee, provided the conditions of the guarantee are met. You pay the replacement’s flight. Details are in the terms and conditions.

Are there trial days?

No. We do not offer trial days. The protection is the six-month guarantee with one replacement.

Who pays for the flights?

You do. You send the flight tickets to the candidate, and you also pay for the flight of a replacement if you use the guarantee.

Can I hire a Filipino housekeeper instead of a nanny?

Yes. The tasks are the ones you define: cleaning, ironing, cooking and, when agreed, childcare or care of older people. A housekeeper follows the same process, the same salary basis and the same guarantee as a nanny.
